Accurate measurement at the time of the test, with more frequent visits after a violation. Suited to facilities with few sources and emission types. The same equipment checks indoor air quality.
Continuous monitoring

Why fuel quality matters
Bad fuel undoes clean-air gains
Wherever fuel is imported and moved by road, it can be diluted, contaminated in storage, or sold below specification.
- Low octane and metallic additives such as manganese damage catalytic converters and block cleaner vehicle technology
- High sulphur and poor lubricity in diesel corrode and wear engines
- Adulteration costs consumers, distorts competition and erodes tax revenue
- Clean, on-spec fuel burns efficiently and cuts CO, NOx and unburned hydrocarbons

What happens after a quick test
The same rule applies at terminals and at retail stations. Every sample goes to the central lab either way.
Passed
- Operations continue. The terminal offloads and marks the fuel, or the station keeps selling.
- Sample sent to the central lab for forensic verification and the official record.
Failed
- Operations halt. Offloading or sales stop pending official verification.
- Central lab confirms the result and records it.
- The authority acts. It deals with the importer, or investigates the station for adulteration or tank water intrusion.
Retail stations keep delivery records for chain of custody: date, delivery company, vehicle, grade, volume and receiving tank.
